Great Shearwater Rum

The Great Shearwater team hails from Kentucky, and we cut our teeth (literally and figuratively) on bourbon. It was the first spirit we learned to enjoy neat or on the rocks, and our love for bourbon piqued our curiosity about other distilled spirits.

Enter: rum.

We discovered the depth and breadth of flavors across different origins and styles, and the realization of how diverse the spirit can be hooked us quickly — and compelled us to start Great Shearwater Rum.

Each of our single barrel selections showcases the unique qualities of its origin. The rum in each bottle has traveled from the Caribbean, across the Atlantic and back - mimicking the pattern of our namesake bird - before finally landing in The Bluegrass State.
